Adventurous New Host for incredibleMAINE
TV Show
If two heads are better than one, it might follow that two
hosts are better than one.
That’s what viewers may be saying about incredibleMAINE, the
Emmy nominated series on the Maine Public Broadcasting
Network, when Alan Bradstreet premiered as new host of the
show on November 12th.
Original Host LC Van Savage retired from new production
after the 2010 season. Her legacy of 46 incredibleMAINE shows
will continue to air in rotation with new shows featuring
Alan Bradstreet.
Bradstreet first appeared on November 12th in a show about
the Rangeley Lakes. Over the next few months, incredibleMAINE shows
with Bradstreet will explore the Maine Wildlife Park, the
Unknown Acadia, a South Paris Tourmaline Mine and sculptor
Andreas Von Huene.
Bradstreet has spent much of his life as a woodworker, best
known for his scroll sawn wooden bookmarks available in many
retail locations throughout the state. “After producing in
excess of 600,000 bookmarks, I was ready for something new
to complement my day job,” said Bradstreet. “Fate stepped in
when LC retired, and my willingness to try just about
anything made me a perfect fit for the job as host.”
incredibleMAINE is
independently produced by Marilyn Taylor and directed by
Dave Wilkinson.
The husband and wife team created the show in 2007 with host
LC Van Savage.
incredibleMAINE has
been airing since then in its weekly MPBN time slot at 10:30
Saturday mornings.
The show has won numerous Telly Awards and Director
Wilkinson has twice been nominated for Emmy Awards.
